The Safar Story
Safar Academy was founded in 1998 by Shaykh Hasan Ali, beginning as a small maktab in North London with just five students.
Since then, Safar has evolved from local classrooms into a multi-platform Islamic education ecosystem. Its work now spans academies, publishing, teacher training, digital learning platforms and apps, supporting learners, teachers, madrasahs and schools worldwide.
Throughout this journey, Safar’s focus has remained the same: delivering high-quality Islamic education that meets the needs of next generation.

International Teacher Training in Canada. Madinah Script editions launched, serving diverse learners worldwide.
Safar Bedtime Stories Podcast launched, bringing Islamic stories into family homes. Teacher Training in New Zealand.

Journey2Jannah platform launched, bringing gamified online Islamic learning to homes. International Teacher Training in Australia.
2023
Safar Academy currently serves nearly 1,000 students across its five branches and employs over 100 staff members. This enables Safar Publications to ground resources in real classroom experience.

National UK book tour introduces Safar's publications to teachers and communities.
